A replicable model for accessible, sustainable active holidays — built at Surf Club Keros on the island of Limnos, in a NATURA 2000 protected area.

WAVES FOR ALL supports Surf Club Keros (SCK) — a pioneering active-tourism SME in a NATURA 2000 area on the island of Limnos — to become a fully accessible, inclusive and environmentally sustainable destination for active coastal holidays.
The project advances the EU Tourism Transition Pathway on both the digital and green pillars: embedding accessibility across physical, digital and procedural operations; minimising physical modifications through modular and digital solutions; and extending the operating season to relieve peak-season pressure on protected areas.
Implemented under fuTOURiSME · programme SMP-COSME-2022-TOURSME · Grant Agreement 101121578 · National partner: Kinno (Greece) · Duration: Jun 2025 – May 2026.
Phased upgrades benchmarked to WCAG 2.1, EAA and ENAT — modular, low-impact interventions for a NATURA 2000 site.
WCAG 2.1 AA-compliant booking with voice control, magnification, high-contrast mode and personalised access-aware packages.
18-contact-hour training programme blending seminars, scenario simulation and an online refresher for inclusive service.
Open-access content library, replication package and an online community workshop reaching 14 countries.
Five activities — delivered on time, on budget, with zero formal deviations.
Full physical, digital and procedural review of SCK with structured staff interviews. Output: a phased Accessibility Action Plan with KPIs and priority actions.
Co-designed Smart Booking Platform with assistive features. User testing with 20 participants returned 93% satisfaction and full WCAG 2.1 AA compliance.
Three-session, 18-hour training delivered to 34 participants (target 30). 94% reported improved confidence in delivering inclusive service.
Three-month campaign delivering 52,400 impressions (5.24× target), 138 qualified inquiries and 17 confirmed accessible-tent bookings for summer 2026.
200 feedback forms analysed, Final Impact Report published, open community workshop with 67 stakeholders from 14 countries.
Consolidated results across the project — a documented, replicable model for inclusive coastal tourism in protected areas.
